I know the idea of having a stranger in your home can feel a little daunting. I treat your space with the same care you would if you had the time to do it yourself.

To make sure I can get into every corner, baseboard, and vent, here is how you can help me do my best work.

First, please clear the surfaces. I can clean a kitchen counter, but I can’t clean the pile of mail, keys, and random clutter sitting on top of it. You don’t need to organize your life, but you do need to move personal items, electronics, and breakables off the counters, tables, and shelves. If something is fragile or valuable, please put it away or let me know where it is so I don’t accidentally move it.

Second, think about the floors. If you have rugs that can be easily moved, please slide them back or remove them. This allows me to vacuum and mop the actual floor underneath, which is where a lot of dust and debris hide. If you have any loose items on the floor—shoes, toys, bags—please pick them up.

Finally, let me know about any specific problem areas. If there is a stubborn stain, a sticky spot on the grout, or a vent that hasn’t been opened in years, tell me when you text me to confirm the appointment. You don’t need to buy anything special. Tell me if you’d rather I use my supplies or the products you already have. I just need the space to be accessible.
